Welcome to Pokhara, Nepal

You’ll find Purna Yoga Retreat Centre in the scenic and tranquil city of Pokhara, the second-biggest city in Nepal, and a hub for yoga and meditation. The yoga centre is nestled into the hills in a quiet area just above Lakeside, in the northern part of town, and commands stunning views over Phewa Lake and the surrounding hills.

Pokhara is 200km from Kathmandu, where you’ll be landing at Nepal’s only international airport. The 200km drive takes about 7 hours, as there are no Western-style highways in this special part of the world. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you can either walk to the centre (20-30min from Lakeside), take a taxi, or arrange a private car pick-up.

Purna Yoga are committed to giving back to the community.

Purna Yoga has a strong commitment to increasing the wellbeing of their local communities; a commitment they’ve brought to life through the People Empowerment Project. Set up by Purna Yoga & Treks, and other local partners, the initiative supports young rural people in their education – providing work opportunities in tourism, hospitality, and yoga teaching.

Following the devastating April 2015 earthquake, Purna Yoga & Treks supplied aid to 8 affected villages in the Makwanpur & Dhading districts. They were able to provide more than 800 families with plastic tents, food, utensils, medicines and tin sheets for shelter. They also built 12 temporary homes for their porters’ families, and two temporary schools for 470 children – which are still in use today.
